Example: I once had a totally white and silver Christmas. White tree – silver ornaments, silver and white wrap on the presents, white and silver candles – it just looked clean, snowy (for Florida) and Christmas "crisp".
This year, I am thinking about Victorian, but I am also looking for other ideas.
i have 20 small Christmas trees, one for each one of my grand children.i put on what ever thay have made me for christmas, and put it on the trees along with there school picture for that year( small one of corse).I than put on lights of there favoret color, hang small candy canes all over the tree ,then i put a money envalope in front of the tree beside there picture, So thay know witch tree is theres.by the way the money envalopes has money in them.around the trees i have a christmas village that i set up to were the trees look like thay are in the yards of the houses, and a train track and trains that goes around the whole villagees .i sprinkle snow all over after i have every thing set up.i have a 9 foot long table that i set this up on .with all of the other decarating that i do,my whole house looks like one BIG christmas cottage. My friend ,kids and grand kids just love it .There smiles and oos and aaaas make it all worth while.

I wish our trees and stuff were themed like that. Ours always looked like three year olds made all the decorations (which they did). This year we’re having Festivus instead of Christmas so we’re going for that minimalist pole look.

i love to decerate with all different colors of green and i use scotty dogs on a lot of my inside decorations and outside i use a lot of colored lights i can not stand people who use all of the white lights i find it tacky and i honestly have been really putting more of an ump on the inside of my house then on the outside i have used teddy bears once to decorate but i like the scotty dogs better and i am a really home experienced when it comes to decking the halls

I did a an angel tree (silver & blue bulbs and angels as the other ornaments.) And Boughs of pine stapled to the middle of the walls with pine cones and cranberry branches stuck into it then tinseled lightly. Garland hanging from the ceiling. A christmas town in the large window with an extremely bright "Merry Christmas" sign. Icicle light around the crown moulding of the ceiling.
I have children, so I go all out on decorating and trying to make the house look festive. My mother did it while I was growing up and now I do it too. Plus, I still have all those old decorations from when I was a child, some are retired now as the years have made them fragile, but, I make it a point to buy a new decoration every year (musical snowglobe, the christmas town). When my children are grown and have children of their own I will split up the decorations and give half to each of them so they can continue the tradition of extravagance in decorating.

I did a Victorian theme for Christmas (I also live in Florida) and it was very pretty. I coupled it with a Victorian theme Christmas Dinner, which was fun to create as well. I found a lot of ideas on Better Homes and Gardens website. bhg.com

Your white and silver theme sounds just beautiful.
I try to get a lovely fat tree, and just use the same old decorations, but these are rather special, even the tatty ones, hold memories.
Its really the wonderful smell of the tree going right through the house that I love best……. being hot here, means the pine smell is very strong..

Hello – Many years ago when I was more of a "Christmas Person," I decorated in white, glitter and silver. That was one of my favourites.
If I have a small fake table top tree this year – I am going Voo-Doo style.
Have a nice day.

I’ve decorated in a Victorian style for many years, especially the tree, allot of burgundy, rose, green and ivory colored ornaments. It looks really pretty, but I’m burnt out on it. I think blue, purple and silver would look pretty,or even just shades of blue and silver on a white tree would look pretty or white and red even red white and blue would look nice and patriotic. You will love the look of the Victorian style. Silk pink or dark red roses looks super pretty on the tree.

I usually use a color motiff say blue, I would use blue trimmings for my tree, wreath or even my lights are blue.

I love to have beautiful white lights all around the house with candles, and a christmas tree with ribbon and lights and antique bulbs. I love mistletoe and the smell of apple cider and cookies.

That sounds really cool, but I just go with the same thing year after year. I enjoy it because you forget what you have and it’s such a rush to see everything again. Plus I am broke buying presents that I couldn’t think of doing a theme really.
